Welcome to our 1st blog!

I’m happy that we’ve gotten a chance to start a blog that will keep all our FAVORITE people in the loop with all the happenings down here in SD.

We’ve been in SD since August of ’07 and at first it was a pretty bumpy road. We were living in PB (Pacific Beach) in a very *interesting* apartment complex. Ben and I had various jobs during the first 4 months of living down here. Just when we thought GOD was calling us out of SD we heard HIM tell us to move to North County SD. So here we are with fantastic jobs (which I’ll elaborate on later) and renting a room with a wonderful Christian family in San Marcos. Wait- did I mention that the family we are living with has 8 sons! Yup, you heard me right… 8 sons. Only 7 of them live with us (Thomas-21, Nikki-18, Chris-16, Steven-14, Josh-10, Michael-8, Wesley-6) J A seminary student lives with us part of the week to. Thank goodness the house is 3,300 square feet, huh!

All that is going to change here soon though… well, not ALL of it but we are moving out this month. We’re apartment shopping right now and we have some things in the pipeline that we’ll know more about next week. I’m sure we’ll announce it on here ;)

So about our jobs… Ben is working for a company names Garden Communities in La Jolla. He’s received great favor with one of the owners and it getting ready to step into a fabulous permanent position in the next few weeks. Garden Communities goes in and purchases property, builds apartments and instead of normal companies that then sell it off- GC holds onto the properties and manages them there selves. Me, Jess, I’m working for a bio-tech in Carlsbad. Big step from insurance but my job is client services so it’s allot of the same people skills. Genoptix is a great group of people and we are able to offer amazing turn around time on our cancer testing that can’t compete with any other laboratories.

Well, besides all that funness we’re just having a good time soaking up SD and spending time with family down here.
We're hoping that our new apartment will offer us some space to entertain and have friends and family come down and visit more ... hint, hint :)
